Conil de la Frontera sits on the Costa de la Luz, the Atlantic coast of Cádiz province. Wide sandy beaches, clifftop paths and a lively old town define this former fishing village.
Beaches
The beach is 100 metres from the house. At low tide the Atlantic uncovers broad shelves of rock where locals go out looking for shellfish. Further north the coast breaks into a series of sheltered coves.
Coastal walks
The clifftop paths begin right outside the development. In spring they run through fields of wild camomile. Head one way and you reach Conil’s old fishing harbour. Head the other and you can walk the beach all the way to Cabo de Trafalgar – the headland with the landmark lighthouse, off which the Battle of Trafalgar was fought in 1805.
Eating and going out
Chiringuitos – the traditional beach bars – open right on the sand through the summer. In the centre of Conil you will find tapas bars, fish restaurants and a weekly market.
